LISTEN
New Catchphrase piece! I dunno about you guys, but I am LOVING the new Doctor! So far, adored pretty much every episode (but especially “Robots of Sherwood”). Not sure if 12 is going to have an official catchphrase like his predecessors, but I think “Listen!” would be fitting to his new frustrated/crotchety personality. Capaldi is slaying it!

McKellen Me Softly: Mag-NEATO
Hey guys, check it out! Now that I’ve unpacked my camera, you can see my submission to this year’s Geeks Out show, “McKellen Me Softly”! As you can see, this year the show is dedicated to the fantastic Sir Ian McKellen, who I think we all love and admire. I have, somewhat unoriginally, titled this one “Mag-NEATO”.

Don't Be A Dick!
"Don’t Be A Dick!"
Gouache and Mixed Media (including dice) on Wood Panel
2X3 ft.
2014
Alrighty, some of you may have heard that back in February, *the* Wil Wheaton commissioned me for a portrait. (Squeeee!) *Ahem* ANYWAYS, the painting has been finished for awhile now, but I wanted to make sure that Wil himself had ample time to see the piece before I posted it. My shipping tracking informs me that it has been delivered since Thursday, so today is the day!
For those that don’t know, Wil hosts a youtube series called Tabletop, where he and various other friends/geek celebrities get together and play different tabletop games to demonstrate how they work. With any hope, my painting will be taking a place on the set of the show. Therefore, I geared my painting to reflect that aspect of Mr Wheaton. Also included is his straightforward yet ever useful catch phrase. Enjoy!

For your viewing pleasure, my latest commission piece, Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor! Did a bit of experimenting with this one, using pastels for the first time to do the background (inspired by the technique/style of David Mack). There’s some glitter in there too, though you can mostly only see it near the tippy top. Had a lot of fun with this angle too.

Weeping Heart
My latest commission, a heart tree from G.R.R.M.’s A Song of Ice and Fire. Client specifically asked for a female representation who was both smiling and crying. I was probably more than a little influenced by Grandmother Willow, I won’t lie. Had a lot of fun playing with light effects in this one. It was also neat to do a piece that was technically a landscape, compared to the mountains of portraits I do.
Done in watercolor, gouache, paint marker, and a little bit of crayon on watercolor paper.

Also, oval paintings are really hard to cut out in photoshop. I really should invest in a backdrop.
